Our lives are merely burning candles, waiting to be blown out by a timely gust of wind.
Yes, yes, we've all heard this before but what are we doing about it?
A guy drowned in Redang, near where I did my first 2 dives. He was married only 2 weeks and is now a victim of Mother Nature's wrath, amidst honeymooners, couples, friends and strangers. It is a pity that his life had to be taken away like that. Imagine the shock and sadness his wife of 2 weeks has to live with.
Yet, on the flip side, shouldn't we all take this case in hand and take all the lessons we can from it?
When was the last time you told your hubby/bf/partner you loved them or given them a hug every morning before they left for work?
Why is it that we always allow ourselves to live with regrets, regretting not giving XX one last hug or regretting not arguing with XX before he left that morning and met with a fatal accident?
What I do and have been doing everyday :
- a big smile & hug when I wake up in the morning
- a kiss goodnight before I sleep
- a smile & a thank you for every small thing he does for me
- "ride safe!" and nothing more every time he rides, hoping he'll remember, amidst being a speed demon, to come back safely to me
- refuse to let any unhappiness brew and come between us, not even for a day because a day is far too much time to lose
